Community policing patrols in place for this weekend’s MotoGP at Silverstone

Dear residents,

Northamptonshire Police officers in the south of the county will be increasing their community patrols this weekend as the Qatar Airways British Grand Prix MotoGP 2026 gets underway at Silverstone.

Police officers and PCSOs from the South Northamptonshire Neighbourhood Policing Team will be patrolling nearby villages, event campsites and surrounding areas to help ensure a safe and crime-free weekend for both racegoers and local residents.

Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the event at the Silverstone circuit, which takes place from tomorrow (August 7-9), and officers will be providing additional patrols throughout the three-day race weekend.
